Trixie just lost her umbilical cord. Pretty gross — a wadded up stiff, little clot of dried blood, tissue and plastic clamp. It’s actually almost exactly the same size, texture and color of a raisin. But not the plump, juicy, golden Dole variety. A dried, bottom of the can, back of the pantry, Harris Teeter brand reject.
We are very proud of her; she is now a big girl and 100% organic without any embedded plastic. But it’s kind of sad also because now that she has a belly button and no more cord stump, it’s virtually impossible to distinguish her from an adult.
