New Poll

May 10th, 2004 · 6 Comments

Sorry about the lack of stories lately. We’re working on it. The Diaper History feature will be wrapping up later today with a small closing piece, and then we’ll get back to writing about Trixie (hopefully by the end of the week). In the meantime, we’ve got a new poll to reflect all the diaper controversy. Have at it. Go vote in the latest Trixie poll (to your left under ‘Latest TTU Comments’.)

include_once "/home/trixie3/public_html/poll/booth.php";
$php_poll->set_template_set(”plain”);
$php_poll->set_max_bar_length(125);
$php_poll->set_max_bar_height(10);
echo $php_poll->poll_process(16);
?>

    Option 5 in the poll may be a joke, but Alecia actually does take Colum to the porcelain thing if she can tell he’s getting ready to poop.

    Regarding using disposables to also mop up spills, etc. - they make great hot compresses for breastfeeding breasts when first getting started or w/mastitis. Just pour on a little water, pop them in the microwave for 10 seconds, and apply. They maintain heat very well. Our 1st ped taught us this one.

    Just a note for all the socially conscious people out there…I was too under the impression that I was polluting our earth with Keir’s high consumption of disposable diapers, however I just completed an Envrionmental Health class, where I was informed that incineration of disposable diapers produces energy that can be sold on the “grid.” Hence, in some way they help supply the energy that we are all using to surf the internet currently.
    I wrote an essay for my class on our use of diapers and how I felt bad about it and my prof informed me that at least energy is “created” from the incineration of the little packages.

    How widespread is incineration of diapers? Unfortunately, nearly all are winding up in landfills. Also, don’t forget the air pollution created by incineration of trash.

    Who wants to wash diapers anyway?
    I wanted to play hero with one of my boys few years ago but it didn’t last. An the water and the electricity you spend to wash cloth diapers/
