I appreciate you guys (Summer, Maddie’s Mom) letting us know about the mention in Parents magazine (Feb 05 p.60). I had no idea we were in there. I was preoccupied reading the Feb 05 issue of Web Etiquette. There’s this awesome article about giving people a heads up before you publish their link in a national magazine.
Just kidding, Parents, thanks for including us! If you’re visiting for the first time, the more popular sections are Milk Week and the charts and graphs in Metrics. Thanks for stopping by.

Congrats on your recognition! I recently started lurking, after seeing your blog mentioned in the newspaper. I just read your Milk Week feature; it brought back memories of feeding my 33-week preemie twin sons. Interesting to see how much milk was made — I kept track the first six weeks, while I was mainly pumping for them, but once they got the hang of breastfeeding I gratefully stopped pumping and sterilizing bottles — for a while I felt like a dairy cow, but they were well-fed
I wonder how much milk was made in the 10 months they were breastfed? Kudos to Jenn for being able to do it for a whole year!

I’ve got this weird mixed feeling. I mean, I’m happy for TTU and Ben and Trixie and Jenn and all, but…
No one’s going to believe me when I say “I was here when it was just boing boinged” (or whatever it was that got me here.)
I guess it’s okay… as long as you newbies listen up… There’s a community here. We play nice and stuff.

We the little people, what do we know about internet etiquette.
Me (Reading Parents magazine in the car): “Gasp”
My Husband(sounding frantic, driving the car): “What? What is it?”
Me: It’s Trixie look! (frantic pointing)
My Husband: (still driving the car, looks in my general direction to pacify me. He knows of Trixie due to my constant rambling and forcing him to look at her especially adorable POD): “Read it to me.”
Me: I wonder if they (ben/trixie/jenn) know?
My Husband: I’m sure that they (magazine) probably give you a heads up. I mean they must browse the site to see if there is anything politically incorrect that would offend their readers. So how hard would it be while your there to drop an e-mail that says oh by the way were considering…

Congrats on the blurb in *Parents*! For those who haven’t seen it, it’s a short, but sweet mention about TTU & what telemetry tracks.
I would be honored if I were you, Ben. My husband is a little offended by the magazine because, despite its name, it caters more to mothers. I like it, but I have to agree that they target women in their articles & advertisements. We subscribe to *Parents* b/c the neighbor kids were selling them for a school fundraiser and we were hoping it might be insightful when we become parents. But, honestly, TTU is a MUCH better resource for parents and those who wish to be parents.
FrumDad: I agree with you about the community. Would it be okay to think of everyone as an extended family if we have conversations about TTU topics at “family” dinner time?

Nina: if only you knew…
hannah: We’ll keep our fingers crossed.
mom2four: I’m glad you like Milk Week. We’re just trying to give pumping and nursing moms a shout out. You guys deserve it.
FrumDad: Let is be decreed here and forever more. FrumDad was here when it was metafiltered. He is almost as old-school as hannah. And he’s right, ya’ll do play nice and stuff.
Melissa: It makes so much sense in theory…
lori: I really appreciate that
thanks!
