Did she make any of it in her mouth? It sure doesn't look like it?

I love that the clicking on the simple (if oddly colored) cloud formations in the the thumbnail can lead you to the mess that is Trixie. Can we at least hose them off (chair and all) when they are through?

We are looking at giving Jackson yogurt and I am wondering why you mixed it with the rice cereal? Was is just to remove the "slime" factor or to increase the adhesion?

Ben, looks normal to me for a 10 month old!!! Maybe she just doesn't have a huge appetite. She's just experiencing something new and really enjoying it!!!!!!!!!! She's a doll. Happy belated "First" Father's Day.

Ben, You can always comfort yourself with the knowledge that she won't starve to death if she doesn't get the peas or mac and cheese down. She's just showing her independence and feistiness which will serve her well as an adult. If she doesn't seem to be hungry or overly willing to sit down for a meal, then maybe postpone it until she does show that's she's hungry. And try really small portions. As soon as it starts to end up dripping down the walls, it may be time to say, "OK, sweet cheeks, let's try this later." She is a doll and I love the daily photos. Happy Father's Day.

Just looked at this pic in the UNC law library and laughed out loud so loudly that everyone was glaring at me. Looked at it a second time and laughed even harder. She just looks so cute and pleased w/herself but I know there is utter parental frustration and misery on the other side of the camera. Exasperation even. My friend used to hose her baby down after every meal - put her in the shower w/removable head and spray her off. You could even do it outside. Splat mats are more of a pain to clean than the floor, IMHO.
Have fun.

How to feed a little chickie:
Give tiny portions to self feed on the tray. 3 peas, 3 mac and cheese noodles. When those get ate or lost, add a few more.
Not too many choices! They get overwhelmed with all the different things to feel and smash. No more than 3 foods per meal.
Give her a baby spoon dipped in whatever you're feeding her. When she pulls her spoon out, put your full spoon in!
Make sure you're eating too so she gets the idea that it's "everybody eat" time. She is watching you!
Some kids are just messy eaters. I had twins (fraternal girls) and one was and is neat as a pin - but a finicky eater. The other is an enthusiastic eater and until just recently (they're 4) had to have her shirt changed after a meal - especially if it invovled spaghetti or ketchup.
Advice from a mom of 3 (including a 1-yr old).

Yes, we mix yogurt with rice cereal to make it thicker so it won't slop everywhere.

thanks to everyone for all the advice and support! We're slowly getting the hang of it.

Not near enough in the hair..you can be sure she will progress to full scalp treatments soon. Must give an A plus on color of food and fashion coordination! Good luck on your further progress!
