T-minus 13

This picture was taken as we were getting ready to leave for the hospital for the first time - about 13 hours before Trixie was eventually born. They didn't admit us at this point, but it was a good practice run.

Happy Birthday Trixie and congrats Jenn and Ben. Our guy turns one in a little over a week and we are celebrating with cocktails in a "we survived" manner. Jenn, you look great pregnant but your photo reminded me how much happier I am to have a kid on "this side". We didn't take a photo but mine ours be G(raham)-36 when I said "I think my water might have broken" and my husband laughed as I got out of the car with my dress (one of the 3 items that still fit)soaking wet. Thank you for sharing Trixie's first year with all of us and best wishes for a fabulous celebration.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRIXIE!!

The first of many - before you know it, she'll be running, skipping, blowing bubbles, hitting puberty, kissing boys, going to college, getting married, having her own little Trixie! But I'm getting ahead of myself!

Happy Birthday Trixie!

Petra turned 2 a few weeks ago, and I was curious to know how far she would be able to understand the meaning of "birthday" -- not an easy concept for a two-year-old to grasp. So today I decided to ask her:

Me: Do you remember your birthday, Petra?
Petra: Party cake! More party cake!
