Sugar
I know, I know - where's the money shot? Where's the picture of cake and frosting everywhere? It never happened. That was one of the reasons Jenn made the ice cream cone cupcakes; they don't make much of a mess. Plus they are easier for little kids to hold. Now it's true that there were a few crumbs once it was over, but this shot at the beginning was more interesting. It's Trixie poised to take her first bite of pure sugar.Photo taken July 31st, 2004. | |

Aww... that's so cute... and it looks like she's doing the Vulcan "live long and prosper" thing with her fingers. I sure hope she does both! Posted by: Christine at August 3, 2004 12:17 AM

Mmmmm...looks yummy. I was thinking the same as Shawn: "those are the coolest cakes ever." What a great idea! A little less mess than a whole cake, but still fun. Love the decorative colors! Trixie looks like she was ready for her 1st bite of sugar. Now, the big question: Did she like it? Posted by: lori at August 3, 2004 10:55 AM

Ben won't be able to take a picture of Trixie after the mouthfull of pure sugar; No camera's got optics that fast. I know we live in fear of the day Rachel gets her hands on a pixie stick, at which time she'll probably become a Scalosian. --FD Posted by: FrumDad (Orthodox Jewish Father) at August 3, 2004 11:27 AM

FrumDad is right: I didn't get the shot. As for her reaction, she liked the frosting pretty well, and didn't eat much of the cake part. I don't have a good picture of her actually eating. It boiled down to the fact that it's hard to participate and document at the same time, and participation got the better of me :) Posted by: benmac at August 3, 2004 11:54 AM

When once I asked a wise friend, who was with me during a very life-changing couple of months, why I just couldn't manage to keep a journal, he smiled and answered, "You're too busy being Dean Moriarty to be Jack Kerouac." I think Socrates mentions this problem somewhere, too. --FD Posted by: FrumDad (Orthodox Jewish Father) at August 5, 2004 07:36 PM
