She's so darling! I saw this picture and my first thought was "Splish splash I was taking a bath la la la la la la la" (can't remember the next line =p) What a cutie you've got there! I look forward to these TPODs every day :)

Jennifer,

You're right! Hair clips!!! Start 'em now so she can get used to them -- otherwise -- yank!!

You still may find she does. My daughter (2) will yank out ones that are firmly in place (I've tried all kinds) along with the hair just to have the offending decoration off her head.

I'm beginning to think that Trixie needs a really close crew cut. She manages to rub an insane amount of food in her hair at mealtimes, and then spends the rest of the day stinking. And it's usually some kind of dairy food item, like cottage cheese or yogurt, that is difficult to wipe out and spoils quickly. I figure, the less hair, the easier to clean up!

My 14 month old daughter has very little hair and still manages to rub at least a snack's worth of food in her hair after every meal. Can't imagine having to clean a Trixie's worth of hair.

Maybe someone should invent some sort of head bib...

Ummmm...Ben? Wait until you have son for the crew cut. Not that I'm a huge fan of hairbows, but part of the fun of little girls is doing their hair. (Well, part of the fun and part of the torture!)

This is an absolutely adorable picture - I love the hair! And definitely no crew cuts ... *laughs* Although the "hair bib" is an interesting idea ... would she keep a shower cap on her head during mealtimes? Might save you the "stinky hair" in the future. :)

I love the shower cap idea! Maddie has grown quite fond of her almond butter mousse that she applies herself during meal time, but a shower cap may prevent that.

Maddie had her first haircut in July. I got tired of pinning/tying her hair out of her eyes. Warning: once Trixie gets a haircut, she will no longer look like a baby. She will look like a little girl.

Reagrding hair clips and insane pony tails and baby up-dos: What the bejesus is wrong with adults? Have YOU ever had your hair pulled into a tight ponytail or clipped up tightly, which is the only way to do it on a baby or they pull it out)? Have you ever wonderred WHY they pull them out? Do it to your own head for a day and then when you are taking your ibuprofin before you go mad, think about the little child's very tender head. Go with a haircut. Her comfort should FAR outweigh style, and who says short hair can't be cute anyway? Sheesh!

On the topic of hair clips, etc. - something I was wondering about the other day (since it looks like my daughter will have as much hair as Trixie or more): you see all these warnings about choking hazards of little parts, and never to give children under 3 toys that are small enough to choke on. Aren't rubber bands and those tiny hair clips choking hazards, too? Toddlers certainly can and do pull them out - don't they immediately go in the mouth?

Our 16 month old son also does the hand through the hair thing every meal, thus requiring at least daily if not more frequent baths!! He has a short hair cut and it doesn't make a difference, try the clips!! The concern for choking though is real so be careful.
