The secret is out about how I like to carry Trixie around. Either that or Trixie is bouncing the babies that have had too much to drink. You know, the rowdy ones.

I love this photo! Does Trixie give the bottle to the doll?

Wow! That's very coordinated for a baby her age - she can walk AND hold a baby doll AND hold a bottle all at the same time. Pretty soon she'll be juggling drumsticks while playing the drums!

Is that a 70's doll? It has an old school doll look to it like the ones I had.

I used to carry my dolls by the hair when I was real little, so my oldest dolls have hair that stands straight up, sort of like Clay Aiken's hair.

Trixie is crazy about real babies and human-like baby dolls. This is my sister's doll from when she was a baby (so yes, it's a late 70's doll) and Trixie hauls it around the house just like it's her flesh and blood. She'll feed the baby the bottle (well, to be accurate, it's more of a stabbing-in-the-face type activity), give the baby her blanket and try to push her around in the stroller. It's all very entertaining to watch.

I love the look on her face "What do you mean I am not supposed to carry my babies like this?

And they're wearing matching mother/baby outfits! So cute and stylish. It's definitely a kinder carry than Sophie used to do - by the arm (serious dislocated shoulder and elbow risk). Trixie is just doing it like a cat, only w/her hand instead of her mouth.

Do you think Trixie knows that it looks like a baby? I think she does if she's trying to feed it. It's so cute to see a baby holding a baby! I'm just wondering when babies learn that a doll looks like a baby... as compared to the doll just being a large piece of plastic and stuffing... just a random thing. I guess before that, they would need to recognize that babies are different from adults. Was there a point when you saw that Trixie would look at other babies or little toddlers as though to say "Hey!! That's someone who's like ME!!!" ? How did she get attached to the doll?

I do see little toddlers sometimes at grocery stores looking at each other from their shopping carts and pointing as though they finally found someone who would totally relate to them. It's very cute. I wonder how they start to recognize that people their size are different.

My daughter also "fed" her baby dolls with bottles until our second daughter was born - now she'll sit down on the couch, lift up her shirt and let her stuffed animal du jour nurse. It's fun to watch.

The "baby" looks totally comfortable being toted by the neck. Good job, Trixie!

My two year old, Sophie, loves babies and her dollys, but thinks that I am the nanny. She'll instruct me to put it to bed, and to be very quiet about it, and to feed the dolly. If I suggest she do it, or set the doll aside, she gets rattled.

She makes sure that her baby gets taken care of well, even if Mommy has to do it!

I'm especially fond of the title of this photo...great pop cultural reference! "I learned it from watching YOU dad, I learned it from watching YOU!" Brings back memories of the "this is your brain on drugs" ad, as well. :)

Oh! She is so cute! I remember when my first child, Bert, was a baby and I would hall him around the house on my hip...now that is an easier way...carry them by the shirt...I wish I had thought of that...maybe I will try it for my baby soon to come(Tabitha).

Trixie, I think you are about the age of my son, Sanders, we named him "Sanders" because we were on vacation in Florida when he was born, and after my wife. My wife, Sandonna, went into labor on the beach! hahaha hope that didn't happen to your mommy. I am a regular to this website and I think that you are the sweetest little munchkin ever. Just call me Uncle Ralph. har har har har. Hey Trixies dad! I think it is great of you to do this web page...thanks a lot! It reminds me of when all my kids were little.

That doll looks just like the one I had in the 50's...I named her Mary. She had a hard head with stiff, thick eyelashes. Her arms were rubber with delicate dimple markings and delicate little rubber fingernails. She had a hole in her mouth for the bottle. I loved how her rubber legs squeaked when I "changed her diaper". Trixie must have been around someone my age (61) who shared it with her??
