Trick-or-treat preseason
We've started training. Yesterday Trixie spent about 30 minutes collecting cracked acorns and dead leaves and sticking them in her pumpkin.Photo taken October 5th, 2004. | |

I don't know how you could top last year's costume, but those pants are a good start. Posted by: Erika at October 6, 2004 08:23 AM

Since there's no way we're going to have the time and energy to actually do it (I don't know if we'll manage Halloween costumes at all), I'll pass on my idea for a cool parent/child costume for this year: an Ent carrying a hobbit. Posted by: Elizabeth at October 6, 2004 10:45 AM

A pink shirt and leapord print pants > what happens when daddy dresses baby. lol :) Posted by: amy at October 6, 2004 11:30 AM

The pink and orange/black print motif struck me as odd, since daddy typically does an excellent job of dressing Trixie. So, Ben, Trixie slept an (almost) uninterrupted 10h 38m the night before...what's with the lapse in judgement? :) (She still looks as cute as always, btw). Elizabeth, I love the costume idea. If I had a baby, I'd be all over that one. Posted by: Becky at October 6, 2004 12:27 PM

If it were up to me, Trixie would have 5 pairs of the same outfit (complete with bar codes) so I wouldn't have to make any clothing decisions. I usually just grab what I can find. What I'm really hoping for is that Trixie will soon start picking out her own clothes, and I can be that guy whose kid is running around the grocery store in a Wonder Woman costume. That's going to be fun. Posted by: benmac at October 6, 2004 05:00 PM

"If it were up to me, Trixie would have 5 pairs of the same outfit (complete with bar codes) so I wouldn't have to make any clothing decisions." LOL! My husband always talks about a clothing line they had when he was a kid called "Garanimals." (In the early to mid 70's, I think.) The top & bottom of the outfits were coordinated by matching the animal (not sure if they were on the inside tag or if it was visible). Kids could dress themselves and MATCH! He never had them, but it was quite the envy. I immediately thought of these when I read your post. And, Good News Ben, you can own them! I saw a couple of cute outfits on EBay. Good luck!
