What a cute picture. Did you do anything special on your camera or in Photshop to make it fuzzy? I like the way the Christmas lights are out of focus. Also, I know we don't get that many shots of Trixie's face anymore, she is on the go a lot more than the pictures you took a year ago, but I was wondering about her little blue mark on her face. Does she still sport it? Posted by: Elaine at December 8, 2004 09:27 AM

This shot is a little blurred because it was a handheld, half-second exposure (i.e. no flash). Trixie is more blurred than the tree because she was moving. And yes, she still has her pale blue dot. Most recently, you can see it in this TPOD from Nov. 25th. Posted by: benmac at December 8, 2004 09:58 AM

Just a random funny thing that happened today...I work in a car dealership and this dad came in with his daughter and she looked just like Trixie. lol So, of course I nearly shout, "She looks just like Trixie!," generating weird looks from all my co-workers! I must have missed any explanation. What *is* the blue dot? A birth mark? A vein or something close to the surface? The mark of true intelligence? Posted by: Maddie's mom at December 8, 2004 05:21 PM

Trixie's only birth mark (although actually a vein) is a pale blue dot on the bridge of her nose. I just googled and found there are three other TPODs that mention it (in story or comments): Oct 5th, 2003, May 24th, 2004 and Nov 24th, 2004. Posted by: benmac at December 8, 2004 06:11 PM

Does it ever frighten you that complete strangers are asking you about the smallest minutae of your daughter's life (and face)? I found you through BenBrophy.com--another kid-based site and a friend of mine. I love your site, it gives me a little boost every time I look at it! Peace, Posted by: Liz at December 9, 2004 12:35 PM

Well, Maddie's mom isn't really a complete stranger. As for the complete strangers, I don't worry about them that much, especially when they leave nice comments. Glad you like the site, thanks for visiting- Posted by: benmac at December 9, 2004 10:13 PM
