Tummy hurts
She doesn't have a fever, and the doctor says she's not contagious, but Trixie isn't quite over her stomach problems from last week. On top of that she's also on a round of antibiotics because of an infection on her thumb-sucking thumb. It's not her best week. Side note: Trixie did not go to daycare Wednesday.

Oh, Trixie, honey...I know exactly how you feel: not really terrible, but not exactly good, and your favorite thing to soothe yourself just isn't the same as before. (OK...my soother isn't a thumb, it's expensive chocolate. But, if I'm out of the good stuff, and I'm resorting to something like a tootsie roll, it's gotta be similar, don't you think?) Get well SOON!

Wow, I really see the resemblence to Jen. I just have seen pics of Jen, but the above pic really shows how much Trixie looks like her, in my humble opinion. And she is still one beautiful little girl, even when she isn't feeling all that well. Poor girl!!
Seems like it has been an endless amount of illness in our home as well! One boy gets sick, then the other gets sick, and then the first one gets sick all over again and I just hope that I don't get BIDS, or the whole house falls apart!!!
Feel better soon, Trixie!

Hello, I was just checking out your website.
Were bottle feeding our baby too, but using formula.
I read back when your daughter was using bottles all the washing etc...
for any parents who's babies are still using bottles, the "Playtex Nurser" with bottle liners take the step of washing out the bottle out.
And you can use the liners to store your breast milk.
It helps alittle and saves a bit of time.

Awww. I hope you feel better Trixie. Have you tried to give her some acidiphillous? It restores the good bacteria in the stomach and intestines that the antibiotics take out.

i'm battling with thumb sucker sores right now too. well.. i guess i mean my dd is. every chance i get, i put lanisoh breast cream on her thumb, the only thing i can think of that is safe for her to ingest. when the whole debate b/w pacifier vs. thumb was a hot topic in my house, no one ever told me that one con to thumb sucking is open sores. i might have pushed the pacifier more if i had known. poor cute trixie.

oh, the thumb-sucking sores! My daughter has these in spades. we've been in twice to get it checked out, but they claim it's not infected...hot, puffy, red, cracked, but not infected. Sigh. We've tried the finger cots over the thumb, but she peels the tape off. Putting a mitten on seems just too hobbling--she sometimes pulls it off, but more often she looks at her hand with a curious expression of "why is there a paw where a tasty opposable thumb used to be? the Lansinoh is a great idea--we were using aquaphor, but this other sounds much better. At least babies heal quickly, right?

I love your site! Trixie is a doll! Your site makes me miss home-I'm from NC, but now live in Florida where my hubby is stationed in the Air Force. Our only one, Ethan, will be 2 next month!! :( It's so hard to believe! Just one word of advice-watch out if Trixie writes the word "PUJUB" in your bathroom! lol My blog explains more! www.gusandmel.blogspot.com Again, I love the site!
