Color Storm
Trixie got invited to a super-fun birthday party at the Little Gym in Durham this past weekend. She had a great time all around, but was particularly in awe of the parachute.Photo taken February 13th, 2005. | |

Who doesn't love the parachute? Ahh the good old days. On very "special" days, I think when the teacher was out of ideas or we were stuck inside due to weather our elementary PE teacher would get out the parachute. The pure joy of the silk rushing past your face, giggling as you got to run underneath or trying to keep the balls all bouncing in the middle. Fun Fun Fun. If you haven't audited a Little Gym class, DO SO! We tried it out and have forsaken Kindermusik for it because it is so much fun and more up a young toddler's ally. Certainly the teacher has a lot to do with it but ours is great with the 18mo - 3 year range. Highly recommended (despite the slightly high cost)! Did anyone use to play cat and mouse with the parachute growing up? That was my fave! Someone got to be the cat on top of the parachute and someone got to be the mouse underneath, it was played on hands and knees and all the other kids were holding the parachute to help the mouse. I loved being the mouse cuz you got to crawl all under the parachute while the cat tried to catch you and the other kids would try to help by lifting the parachute and stuff. Sooooo fun!
