Trixie's quite the artist! Forget kindergarten-- she's going straight to 1st grade!

My 8 month old is wearing those same pj's tonight.

Has Trixie learned the fun of refrigerator magnets yet? My 3 year old is constantly putting up her new artwork on the fridge - and complaining that there aren't enough "magnicks."

"And I drew this one during my thin HB pencil period.. notice the fine details around the face of the bunny."

she looks stunning in this picture and really grown up! does the artistic talent come from mum or dad?

Love Trixie's hair style. It's adorable on her. I had feared the lack of bangs would take away from her precious "baby" face and make her look older than she is...it's actually done the opposite, it's beautiful! I've been trying out a new style for me and it's similar (but I have to put LOTS of product in it to get it to look good).

I'm guessing you, Ben, brush & style her hair most mornings...with Jenn off to work. When I was young, my Mom left the house early to go to work and my Dad would help me style my hair for daycare/school. Those are memorable moments I have of my Dad. :)

I agree that Trixie's hair looks particularly cute in this picture.

Lori brought up a good point, Ben. Pretty soon you are going to have to master the intricacies of little girl hair styles. I'm talking beyond barrettes here. My favorite was always the french braid (or french braid pigtails). Once my mom got the hang of it, I was brutal. If it wasn't tight enough, I'd make her start over! What a horrible child I was...

Ben, did you draw the bunnies for her, or did she get them at daycare? It looks like a daycare project to me (glue a cotton ball to the bunny butt, scribble on the bunny to color it in).

Maureen: Yes, Trixie is a big magnet fiend.

lori: I'm flattered, but you guess wrong :) I don't know anything about Trixie's hair. Well... I know to try to keep it out of her mouth.

becky: I have to master the intricacies of little girl hair styles?? Does a hair net count?

bex: These were actually made at home. Jenn and I each drew one (and mine is better) for Trixie to color and pop on the cotton tails. But, you're right -- it's totally a daycare-ish project.

I'm glad you explained that ben cuz I thought these were daycare projects where the lines of the bunny were already printed out and the kids were to add the detail, I saw the scribbles on the one Trixie is pointing to and thought well thats where a toddler should be art wise but the one on the other side I thought a child added that detail and I was shocked.

Ok so it was you who did it I don't feel so incompatent as an artist anymore. Phew!

Oh and I love her hair too, very stylish, fits her very well, shes a stylish chick!

I rarely go back and comment in the archives, but I must say, this was nice timing with this week's museum run. Trixie looks like she's ready for a docent job at any time based on this performance last year!
