Okay, Ben...so what's the story here?! It's got to be better than the chain of events that I'm thinking led you & Trixie here...You were just driving along, through your neighborhood (maybe on your way to the grocery store or home from daycare), and saw the pile of rubble and JUST HAD to stop and let Trixie play in it? I can just hear it now..."Hold on Trixie, we're pulling over - LOOK at that great photo opp for tomorrow's TPOD!" Or...are you & Jenn remodeling? The front of our house has looked like this before. Piles of rubble, industrial blight and urbanscapes are my preferred subject matter. So it's good to get Trixie exposed to it when she's young. On a related note, as soon as I get some free time I'm creating another Picture-of-the-Day style blog that details our time in the Bronx. After you see that, TPODs like this one will make a lot more sense. Posted by: benmac at March 22, 2005 02:34 PM

I know where that is - nice job framing it as "urbanscape" and "industrial blight," benmac. You desperately miss da Bronx, huh? It is a great picture, though, even if it is a bit of a misrepresentation of the bucolic suburban surroundings. Posted by: hannah at March 22, 2005 07:35 PM

My dad wrote a song about my brother at thirteen months called "Disaster Man." Although that had more to do with dishes than anything else. Posted by: fred at March 22, 2005 09:39 PM

So...is anyone going to tell those of us unfamiliar with Baltimore where this is? My guess is a museum exhibit of some sort. Am I even close? Ben, I wonder whether your site is inspiring anyone to visit Baltimore. You could be an economic development force and not even know it! I've never been there, but all the area references made from time to time have me considering it! Posted by: Marie at March 23, 2005 12:57 PM

Marie: I'm guessing you got the idea that we live in Baltimore from this on-the-road TPOD, but we actually live in NC. If you do like the local scenery in the TPODs, you should consider coming for a visit to Chapel Hill :) As for this pile of concrete and bricks, it's just some debris by the side of the road.
