Man, I can almost HEAR Trixie yelling with glee. She has a ton of teeth now, too. Have you named the new additions to the fleet, Ben? Posted by: Kate at May 17, 2005 04:39 AM

Trixie's Grandma works at Glaxo, and this was a company-sponsored carnival. Posted by: benmac at May 17, 2005 09:03 AM

aidens momma sugar does not make kids hyperactive...it is usually just the situation involved with the sugar...such as: Birthdays, Halloween, Carnivals...etc. Just a side note. Posted by: at May 17, 2005 05:54 PM

gee teeth. mine has exactly 5. Not that this prevents her from gnawing on the crib, the walls, the coffeetable, books, crayons, my feet, etc,,etc what a kick ass picture. Posted by: thordora at May 17, 2005 10:00 PM

Huh, interesting. I actually never thought of that. Posted by: Allison at May 18, 2005 09:48 PM

Mine react more to artificial colorings than the sugar (especially BLUE for some reason). Looks like Trixie had fun at the carnival. Glad to see she was feeling better. Posted by: mom2four at May 18, 2005 09:52 PM

Hold on a minute... I know that *I* feel different when I eat a lot of sugar. It actually doesn't get to feeling hyper unless I've consumed three times my body weight, but even before then I get a little jittery, etc. That's why I don't buy into the argument that it's not the sugar in the cake, it's the birthday party around it. --FD Posted by: FrumDad at May 19, 2005 07:16 PM

sorry to stir up such a discussion...all i know is that aiden reacts both to large quantities of refined sugar (ie candy, cake, cookies, icecream etc) and food coloring (esp red 40!!!!!). but then again he recieves very limited amounts in his diet. anywho, no matter what your belief this isnt a debate forum (as im sure ben will agree). so to each their own and again, sorry. Well, even if it doesn't make your kids hyper too much sugar is bad anyway, kids these days are too fat!! Please watch the kid's sugar intake. Let them be kids and enjoy it but please limit it. Posted by: Nina at May 20, 2005 06:23 PM

I agree with Nina! But fun is fun...if we're going to give our kids an occasional treat, cotton candy isn't the worst. There's actually not as much sugar in it as you'd think - it's way better than a can of soda pop or even powdered drinks! Posted by: Denise at June 4, 2005 02:31 PM
