Trixie's latest boo boo
doesn't look nearly big enough to warrant the bloody mess I had to clean up.
Photo taken May 23rd, 2005. Age: 21 months. Pretty scary thumbnail, right? Sorry -- I couldn't help it, but here's the full picture to set your mind at ease. Photo taken in NYC, September 8th, 2000. | |

The Boo Boo will heal in due time... but what beautiful curls she has and the smile to make up for it. Sarah: she was running outside her house and she fell and hit her head on the steps of the porch. Posted by: Rose at May 24, 2005 12:35 AM

Heh. When I saw the thumbnail, my first thought was "melted icee"! I see I wasn't too far off ... Posted by: Nadine at May 24, 2005 08:16 AM

Ha! Thanks for the chuckle. And what a great smile Miss Trixie has. So very cute. Posted by: Kelli at May 24, 2005 08:59 AM

She certainly doesn't look like she's suffering any! I can't believe how resilient kids are! Posted by: Laura at May 24, 2005 10:11 AM

Good one, Ben! I was actually bracing myself to see the reality of a fallen toddler. Don't blame you for rushing her to the ER. And, Trixie...Ouch! But so wonderful to see you happy & smiling so soon. :) Try Aloe & Vitamin E to help minimize any potential scaring. Posted by: lori at May 24, 2005 10:17 AM

Dave: great link! That's a disturbing photoshop job. (but the proportions seemed right at the time...) lori: Just the family doctor. There has to be a lot more blood than that to go to the ER. Posted by: benmac at May 24, 2005 10:35 AM

Woah, what's in the thumbnail for this POTD? It looks like something out of a John Carpenter movie. Posted by: Jamie at May 24, 2005 10:54 AM

Ah, nevermind. I should learn to read more closely. :) Posted by: Jamie at May 24, 2005 10:55 AM

Mederma for kids will also work, I use Mederma for adults on my scars and stretch marks from the baby and it works wonderfully. Posted by: Valerie at May 24, 2005 01:12 PM

Oh...just great! I'm going to be one of those mom's who's rushing the kid to the ER over a little scrape that gushes blood all over the place...especially if my kid turns out anything like me - I have my share of "beauty marks" from my childhood days. Posted by: lori at May 24, 2005 05:47 PM

Lovely nick out of the old forehead, but she looks no worse for the wear! Great smile! Posted by: Judy at May 25, 2005 12:00 AM

Wait. I don't get it. I can't find the thumbnail anywhere in the real picture. Jamie says "read more carefully," but I did! Except maybe not carefully enough. Heppee. (Rachel-speak for, "Help Me." Or, "Heavy," we haven't figured it out. She's usually asking for help when trying to move something way too big for her.) Posted by: FrumDad at May 25, 2005 02:25 PM
