Step'sah Allgon
It's pretty distressing when you wake up and the front steps are all gone.

was it all the ice melting that caused the steps to disappear? Posted by: Terri at June 10, 2005 03:00 AM

Great picture! I think it would also be great if you crop it down so it's just Trixie and caution! You could put it up on the door to her room with a happy Trixie pic on the other side and flip it from side to side like an Open/Closed sign depending on mood. (And it will be REALLY handy in about 10 years!) Oooh, and I just noticed the "how to make links" directions below - what a fantastic idea! Posted by: Jen (yup, another one) at June 10, 2005 10:13 AM

Good thing your building super put up that helpful yellow “Caution” tape to prevent young Trixie from plummeting off the front stoop like some poor lemming. Model babyproofing! Posted by: michele at June 10, 2005 10:40 AM

Awwww--so distressed! I bet that's really confusing for her. She needs ICE CREAM to comfort her. Cheers. Posted by: samantha at June 10, 2005 10:56 AM

She looks so sad, I know that change is hard for kids. I remember our neighbors cut down a tree when I was a kid and I was so sad, and my mom had to give me the "everything is changing all of the time" talk. When will you get new stairs and what was wrong with the old ones they took out? Posted by: Val at June 10, 2005 01:35 PM

That's the thing. There was nothing structurally wrong with old steps. And the management is a bunch of jackasses. The steps have been missing for four days now and there's no sign of anyone to replace them. Needless to say, I'm a little ticked at the situation. Posted by: benmac at June 10, 2005 01:41 PM

She does look really distraught...poor kid. Hey you better tell the management to "step up" to it.. :-) Posted by: Kamini at June 10, 2005 01:55 PM

So, get one of Jenn's doctor pals to put a cast on Trixie for a day or two. Sue the management company. Pay for Trixie's college education. (joking out of empathized frustration...) Posted by: Maddie's Mom at June 10, 2005 02:28 PM

benmac: If the weather's hot enough, you could put a portable swimming pool at the bottom - where the stairs WERE - and let Trixie practice her diving... JK, of course! It doesn't look like there were more than 4 stairs anyway. Maybe someone can think of something else that might help you get some sort of revenge or show them that you're not pleased with your living conditions. It's just not safe living conditions for Trixie! Do they know she has friends all over who care about her health & welfare??? Posted by: lori at June 10, 2005 03:01 PM

I jump. Jenn rappels. Trixie gets lifted. I have no idea what happened to the stairs. I'm going to call and complain again tomorrow. Posted by: benmac at June 12, 2005 09:24 PM

I agree you should complain and take this picture with you to show that it's not just an inconvenience or semi-safety hazard, but something that has had an unwarranted negative effect on Trixie's mental state. A notice would've been the least they should've done so you could've warmed Trixie up to the stairs being gone. Posted by: Jessica at June 13, 2005 06:17 AM

Weird, one morning I woke up and my toilet was gone.... Seriously, no one told me the bathroom was going to be worked on. I hope they get you some steps soon! btw, my toilet is back. Made me realize just how important those dang things are eh. Posted by: Nina at June 14, 2005 07:36 PM
