Wow, I had to do a double-take because it doesn't even look like Trixie here - very grown up in some regards, yet she also looks so tiny, holding the window sill like that. Can you send some of that thunder and the wetness that usually accompanies it our way? We haven't had rain in almost a month... Posted by: Judy at June 23, 2005 12:07 AM

Great shot...absolutely great. So, how did Trixie react to the thunder? Was she afraid or excited? Posted by: Maddie's Mom at June 23, 2005 01:00 AM

Keir too was fascinated by the thunder and rain last night. Glad to see he has not inherited the weather phobia that I have! Posted by: Shauna and Keir at June 23, 2005 08:32 AM

Trixie is very awe... And to Samantha, I think its watching for thunder, my boys do the SAME thing when they HEAR thunder, they go looking for it... or, it could be a "type-o" and could have meant lightning... I am sure this isnt Trixies first thunderstorm, the boys are so "used" to them, that they just watch, and arent frightened. Just a little advise for kids who are afraid, my friends daughter is 4, and has always been told that Thunder is "God playing bowling", and she isnt too afraid of it like she was when she was around Trixies age... but now when ever a thunderstorm ends, she asks, "So mommy, who won?" CUTE Hope Trixie "enjoys" her thunderstorm! Posted by: Melissa at June 23, 2005 01:49 PM

I just re-read that first sentance, and it should be "Trixie is certainly in awe"... or somewhere along those lines. Posted by: Melissa (again) at June 23, 2005 01:51 PM

Hello you guys, just found this site via google (typed in some search under images, linked me to this site?). Anyway, I would like to say that Ben and Jenn, you are GREAT parents, and to find the time to do this whole updated site, is quite remarkable. I have 3 kids myself, three kids UNDER the age of 4... My oldest, Reilly, is 3 1/2, and my twins (boys) will be 10 months old tommorow... Trixie is ADORABLE... just the picture of cuteness! By the way, Reilly used to do this ALL the time when she was Trixies age (still does sometimes) except she would look for the lightining (dont know if thats what you ment ben)... I love the idea of using the ole' "gods playing bowling" scam or somewhere along those lines... My sons dont really mind thunder/lightining, although I dont know if its just my telepathic twins, but they always seem to get really anxious before a storm or something (snow, rain, thunder... whatever), any one eles children do that? Or are my kids just odd? LOL Keep up the good work Ben/Jenn, I will now be a regular visiter! Posted by: Joy at June 23, 2005 05:36 PM

Hey, you mean its not god bowling?? I was always told that too. And on days where it's sunny and you get a shower for a few minutes then it stops then it showers again for a few minutes, that was always a witch's wedding. I have no idea why. When I first looked at this pic I thought you cut trixie's hair and spiked it in the front. You really want trixie to be punk eh? But its not cut and thats good because I had short hair all thru out my childhood and it stank! I looked like a boy and I wouldn't want Trix to go thru what I went thru. Her hair so so beautiful it would be a sin to cut it. anyway, you didn't cut it so...very good. Posted by: Nina at June 23, 2005 07:43 PM

Great shot, Ben. I love this picture in general; the contrast, the look of anticipation....and you didn't think you'd get any more candid shots. However, the first thing I noticed in this pic was how long Trixie's hair is in back. Wow! Posted by: Becky at June 23, 2005 08:58 PM

She is indeed 'watching' for thunder. (I'm not sure she's seen lightning.) Her reaction wasn't really scared or excited, mostly just curious. Kelli: I noticed we've had a B/W TPOD every Thursday for the last 4 weeks. Might be a new feature :) Posted by: benmac at June 23, 2005 11:19 PM
