Wow, all that fun in the summer sun sure has lightened the top layer of Trixie's hair :) Did she find a good book? Posted by: Kristin at August 25, 2005 12:33 AM

the library has recently become a source of contention with aiden and me. he thinks he can pull out 8 or 9 books at once...needless to say the librarians groan when they see us coming. glad to see trixie is more refined. Posted by: aidens momma at August 25, 2005 04:59 AM

Just more proof that Trixie is way ahead of the curve - I am a school librarian and I can't tell you how much of a struggle it is to get the 4 and 5 year olds to handle the books "the right way"!!!! Posted by: Jen (yup, another one) at August 25, 2005 07:00 AM

My favorite summer outing! THE LIBRARY!!! Okay, we go all year, but we love love love it in the summertime. Good to see Trixie there, too! Posted by: Judy at August 25, 2005 07:52 AM

Another great pic. I have many favorite childrens books but the best one is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. It's wonderful! Posted by: Jessica at August 25, 2005 08:36 AM

This is my new favorite TPOD. Massive quantities of books always make me smile. And Trixie is as beautiful as always. Posted by: KH (your new neighbor) at August 25, 2005 09:31 AM

I can't wait to see the wrong way. I can imagine it, for sure. But I'm enjoying speculating about just how wrong it can get. If it looks anything like what my daughter did last time she was in the library...ah, so wrong. Posted by: Amy at August 25, 2005 09:35 AM

I used to LOVE the library as a kid - especially story time days (read: Mom gets 30 minutes of quiet time when someone else entertains Jenny)! What a little darlin' that Trixie is ... although, from the sound of it, tomorrow's pic might be a little less darlin' and a little more devil!! Posted by: Jenny at August 25, 2005 12:02 PM

everyone understands that libraries are supposed to be quiet places - we get that - and everyone should understand that in a childrens section there might be children (crazy i know) that are still learning that little bit of information... for those of you that didn't notice though, yesterday's picture was "the right way" - to balance today's "wrong way" to act in a library... trixie's just learning, like every little kid should :) Posted by: guest at August 27, 2005 06:29 PM

I am Kelly O'Bannon's Aunt. We had talked about the importance of preschoolers getting to the library early. My daughter(who is now 23) and I would go to our local library weekly and she would check out about 20 books each week. She immersed herself in literature. She read them to herself too and made up stories to go with the illustrations. This is my suggestion to new moms especially. I am a teacher of 30 years and bringing home a weekly basket of books that your child picks out with you is a gift you will give your child. I'm sure I'm the oldest person to comment, but I wanted to share this. Trixie looks like she has spirit, what a doll. PS. Don't let the librarians get too cranky about their books, they're to be enjoyed!!! Posted by: Nancy Shaeffer at August 31, 2005 11:29 AM
