Ice-cream princess

I'm not totally sure what the costume was supposed to be, but Trixie said she was a princess, and I said she looked like an upside-down ice cream cone. Either way, I didn't have time to do a costume this year so we were thankful for the hand-me-down.

Side note for shutterbugs: I'm using the new camera and so far I'm not happy. I'm going to try it as much as I can over the next week, and then if it doesn't work out, I'm going to take advantage of Circuit City's 14-day return policy and upgrade to the canon.

Ben, I'm glad to see that you were able to get a camera to capture the Ice Cream Princess; sorry you aren't happy with it though. For what it's worth, I have a Canon PowerShot A95, which is apparently the top of the "entry-level" models and I have been very happy with it. Good luck!

I would think as many hits as The Trixie Update gets, camera companies would clamor to GIVE you a great camera for the free publicity they'd receive on your site.

Ben, I love seeing all the great pictures of Trixie. I own the Canon S1 IS and absolutely love it. I've used it for every occasion possible and have always gotten the best pictures, even underwater with an underwater case.

I just got the Canon Rebel XT. A little more pricey, but an awesome, awesome camera. Love it.

We just got the Nikon D50 and took pictures at night for the first time last night and the Halloween picts came out awesome!

Don't know if that's pricier than you want to go...

Sorry you aren't happy w/ the "new" camera. We have the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ10 and love it! 36x Digital Zoom, 12x Optical Zoom 4.0 Mega Pixels. Top of the line 2 yrs ago. Love the picture quality. Can take great pics in low light w/o a flash and the zoom is fantastic. It's bigger, yes, but very professional. Bought the Canon i960 color printer - pictures turn out amazing! I, too, wanted a smaller, yet high quality camera so Santa brought me a Canon Power Shot SD300 Digital Elph last year. Wonderful for everyday use! Small, compact, easy to use, & love the quality & sharpness of the digital screen.

This summer I upgraded to a Nikon CoolPix 7900 and I love it. I don't know what your requirements are, but I dig the Nikon -- it ran about about $400.

Ben -- just adding my 2 cents re: cameras. Donald & I upgraded to the Konica Minolta Dimage X50 shortly before Jonah was born.

I have no complaints and think the picture quality is awesome! Plus, the battery holds a charge forever (a big plus in my book). We looked at several before settling on this one. Another nice thing is that it is compact -- will fit in your pocket easily! All of the photos on Jonah's website (from about Apr '05 thru present) were taken with this camera!

I really want the Canon Rebel... but of course being 15, I can't afford it. So I got the Canon Powershot A510... can't see how you even considered gettign panasonic. Love this site, have been visiting it regularly for about a year now...
