I see that Trixie has also graduated to a big girl cup like our Ethan has to his big boy cup. We got tired of the Gerber sippy cups and also moved up to the cup like Trixie has. MUCH easier...

Have you tried to colorwonder markers? Love them with my son when he was smaller (because he was notorious for wall murals).

Wow. all the caps are off... Yet, somehow, the floor is still a uniform color.

Neat trick.

Color Wonders are the only things my son's (Trixie's age within days) allowed to play with. The one time he got a hold of a regular marker he drew all over the carpet and himself.

All I'm going to say is..."But mommy we just wanted to play Indians" (My little sister and I after a marker incident)... Also if you do get an animal, Paints are not reccommended...Cats do not like to be blue! Hehehe

Interesting, I was looking at the crop and thinking... "Hmmm, I've never seen shell casings in pink before."

Perhaps more interesting was that it didn't faze me at all to have that thought and still know that this was going to be a photo of a toddler.

Maybe I should hold off on having kids for just a bit longer. :)

The only problem with that type of cup (Dorothy has a couple of them) is that the air hole leaks liquid when the cup is turned on its side/upside down. I've found this out from discovering a soaking wet backseat floor, parts of the carpet, etc. :-)

Judy, are colorwonder markers something other than washable markers? We got some of those recently, but I'm always looking for ones that are as safe as possible on fabrics...

I'm not Judy, but I do have a 2 year old so I feel qualified to answer Tom N. Color Wonder Markers (and finger paints!) only mark on special color wonder paper. That's it. Not on the kids, not on the furniture, not on the walls. They're made my Crayola. Of course, the colors aren't quite as vivid, in my opinion, but to be able to finger paint without getting paint everywhere is marvelous.

Hubby and I picked up some color wonders for our 18 month old and we weren't too wild about them. They essentially teach her that she can color anywhere she wants. But to each their own. I'm sure our wall will be multicolor by the time she grows up!

Oh, those Color Wonder Markers do sound interesting. We've had something vaguely similar for a while. It's called an Aquadoodle. It's a pad that you can draw on with water. It comes with a felt-tipped pen that you fill with water, then use the wet felt to draw. On the pad, the water makes marks, elsewhere the water is obviously not noticeable. We gave it to Dorothy when she was probably 15 months old or so. For the longest time she loved drawing with her water pen, and we didn't care if she also tried drawing on the cat or the carpet. And now that she's 21 months, she's been learning to (mostly) draw with crayons and markers on paper, not the cat.

Is Trixie very particular about the pink cap going on the pink marker and the yellow going on the yellow marker, ect? I was notorious for recapping all of my friends’ markers so each had the right cap.

She's particular about de-capping all the markers. It takes the threat of throwing them in the trash to get them capped again. However, when she does cap them, she matches em up :)
