Chop Stixie
Trixie got some kiddie chop sticks and jelly beans in her stocking. She does pretty well with rice too.

My first vist to a Japanese Resturant (this past summer, age 69) I was amazed at how many little ones used chopsticks to eat dinner, not the parents!! Good job Trixie!! Posted by: Jo at December 30, 2005 09:12 AM

Well, I'm not sure where Santa got them from (but I have seen them at the Chinese shop near Saladelia Cafe in Durham). They are called Rookie Stix and it looks like there are a bunch of places that sell them online. Good luck! Posted by: benmac at December 30, 2005 10:38 AM

I found some of these learning chopsticks w/animals on the top at Learning Express! Posted by: EC at December 30, 2005 01:28 PM

Those ones with the animals don't work so well for my daughter. These look better. The waitresses at our favorite Japanese restaurant do a trick with the disposable woooden chopsticks, their paper wrapper, and a rubber band that is quite effective, too. I'm with Chris on the rubber band method - if you ask at your local Chinese eatery, they can show you how it works. We use a similar trick to teach my older son how to properly hold a pencil. Works like a charm! These look quite handy, though...Not as tempting as a rubber band across your stix either. Posted by: Judy at January 1, 2006 04:01 PM
