Trixie Update News: I just received a very nice looking book in the mail titled Digital Family Album Basics. I bring this up because 1) we're mentioned in a few places, and 2) someone had just asked about managing photos the other day. I have only skimmed the book, but I thought I would pass the title along since it seems to address that issue. (Thanks for including us, Janine!)

I'd love to see a photoshop of this pic with Trixie holding a bat in her hand, it would make it seem as if she's coming after you.

I love the Trixie in motion shot!

I think the original concept of this blog has been lost!!! It, as I recall, was to keep Jen in touch with Trixie's daily happenings while she was at work. It's really become about something other than "Trixie"... IMHO. Just read the caption under the pic today. It's about the "blog" NOT Trixie. What a shame!!!! I personally would like to know more about HER!!
Just being honest!!!

It's a blog about Trixie MacNeill, and her parents are part of her life. I am sure Ben & Jen's family, who were the original audience for this site, are interested in knowing that they're mentioned in a book, as am I, a non-acquaintance reader. BTW, good job on being mentioned in an actual published book, Ben! How cool is that? :-)

I also would like to see a bat photoshopped into this TPoD.

I've been reading for several months now and after reading several posts like the one above, I still just don't understand where people get off critiquing the way that you run your own website.

In case you didn't notice, it says "Trixie Update News," not "Trixie News." Trixie Update--as in the blog, the website... not the girl. It wasn't as if Ben was trying to pass off the news of the book as news about his daughter.

In Ben's defense, I think he's doing a great job of at least keeping the TPODs current to keep everyone updated on Trixie's growth. I'd love to read new stories but he's doing what he needs to do to get the Trixie Tracker up and running. Forgive the man for trying to make a living... especially since he's doing it while being a full-time dad!

As for Jenn staying updated at work... I'm sure that when Trixie was a baby, it was especially excruciating for Jenn to be away from her all day. Not that it's easy for her now, but at least now, at this age, Trixie isn't changing every single MINUTE. And just because Ben's not sharing every day of Trixie's life with the entire free world doesn't mean that Jenn isn't being updated regularly. There's something called a phone.

Sorry for my rant, but I've stayed silent through a lot of comments like this and I just couldn't take it anymore... not without saying something.

Anyway... Kudos, Ben!

Of course there is something to be said for not publishing every minute detail of your child's life for complete strangers in today's crazy world...

mommamia,

How about providing a link to your baby blog so we can see how to properly run one? Or, barring that, maybe just stop paying Ben, since you don't like the product anymore...

Ben,

sometimes I'm a mite envious of the lively comments section you have for the TPODs, but I guess there's a price to be paid...

Congrats on the book include. Your photos deserve the exposure.

No pun intended. Really.

It is too early in the morning to be fighting like this! Let Ben do things the way he wants, this site is his and Trixie is his too. I like coming every morning and seeing the new picture. If there is a new story up, then yay I'm excited because I'm surprised... but I don't expect one. Ben, I know you don't need the reassurance, but you do have people who don't expect anything from you and are happy with what you give us!

Does Trixie like the ball park? My older son used to LOVE to run through the field at her age!

Trixie looks so big! I think if you photshopped a bat in her hand, it'd be scary! She looks like a tough girl!
Do you guys wrestle much? My husband wrestles Emily and it drives me crazy! And she's a little brutal when it comes to the whiffle ball bat, so I'd keep a real one away from Trixie!

P.S. I love the different B/Ws you've been posting. And I can't wait to check out the book. Congrats!

i love trixie update! i check it almost every day. when the world is so crazy like it is now, to be able to recover the perspective of a wonderful young person such as the adorable trixie is amazing. to see a website so artfully, smartly and beautifully produced is incredible. my own little ones are 7 and 11 now, and i love going back in time with trixie update.

p.s. my kids also love "they might be giants" their favorite cd is now "a user's guide". they listen/sing/dance to it (and sometimes even play along on guitar or piano) night and day in the house and in every single car ride. still!

I love the book link and its info & links to other creative sites. I publish a family triplet site for my 1-year-old grandsons and am always looking for ways to improve.

Trixie Update is fantastic as is! I'm grateful you take the time to share Trixie's photos as well as your knowledge with the rest of us, Ben. Keep it coming! Thanks.

Yes, how about a bat-wielding Trixie, going after the TTU critics.

I have a son who is about 14 mos old and I just ran across this wonderful site a few months ago. I work in Photoshop and do some hobby related things and of course I like to make the photos of my son look as good as possible as quickly and efficiently as possible.

By the time we have our next baby in a few years, I hope the Beta Software is ready to go. It would have been a life-saver for us during my son's early months and all the feeding issues he had.

I think this site isn't meant to be anything but what it is and what the author, Ben, expresses to us every day. I enjoy the telemetary and the interesting patterns and developments in Trixie's habits. It is like a glimpse into the life of my son a year from now. I also enjoy is commentary of Trixie's daily life and I also enjoy the technical aspects of the site and Ben's opinions and insight into posting digital images.

Truely there is no better inspiration than your own child Trixiupdate reflects that calling.

Thanks for all the hard work and the love behind it.

The Trixie Update site is enjoyable as it is. The Trixie Picture of The Day brightens my day. Ben's photographic knowledge and skills are evident by the great Trixie pictures. Keep up the good work, Ben.

Love this site. I look at it everyday. Ben, you should adopt as your theme song Sinatra's "I'll do it MY WAY". (it was Sinatra's, right?)

When did you guys get the idea that the man creating this website owes you anything? He created this website as a scrapbook of his daughter's life meant for other family members and friends to enjoy. NOT for complete strangers to critique his every move. Chill out people!

Mommamia has the right to express her opinion on here just as you all do. This is, after all, a website, not a family/friend scrapbook as alluded to by Melissa. I read Mommamia's comments as sincere in wanting to know more about the almost 3 year old Trixie's "updates". I find that flattering to Benmac and his family. And, I am sure she realizes that "phones" exist. She probably is a very computer literate person. Some of you were very harsh on her. Trixie is a darling child and there is no doubt about that.
Congrats Benmac on your accomplishments.

Because BenMac doesn't have enough to do, we've always wanted him to print out all of the Trixie Update pages and make them into a book, so that when we have kids, we'll know exactly what to do. Glad to see the software developers have the same idea. . .

Hahaha I love how the comments section became like a club and everyone takes sides. Ok I don't mean everyone but I gotta say the comments have become the most interesting read on this site.

Ok not the most I still love seeing the cute trixie pictures because after all she is such a glamourous star but the fighting on this site is so great. :)
