Trixie assuages most parents' greatest fears about television by reading a book at the same time.

(unless that would be the latest edition of TV Guide)

She's too grown up for her own good.
Can't Believe she's only 2 yrs.

But LOVE the footie Jammies.
Puts it all in prospective.

Is it just me, or does that "book" look like a DVD cover? Powerpuff Girls?

Dude, watching TV in the spinny chair! I never got to have that much fun when I was a kid. Of course, I would have spent every commercial break spinning around until I threw up...
Trixie looks really cute in her footies, though.

so to follow up from yesterday...
does she ask/beg/cry for tv other than those times (before 8 and dinner prep time)? just wondering and, if so, how you handle it.

my side note: personally, i hate aurthur and love bob the builder. but, more importantly, what does trixie like best?

She does sometimes ask/demand to watch TV around dinner time. She knows that the Simpsons comes on around 6, and that we're partial to turning it on :) However, I'm pretty firm about not giving in -- especially if she's whining about it. Maybe like once a week, we'll watch a little bit if we finish dinner early. The rule with TV is pretty much the rule with eveything else: never give in to whining. It's painful for a while, but she definitely stops asking after a few days.

Trixie likes Dragon Tales!

Mssr. Mac,
You, my friend, never shared your wisdom about the secret to Dragon Tales - about how you "get it." Do my pleas for help fall on deaf ears? Do you not understand the agony I suffer every day watching that wretched show? Do you not care that you could alleviate some of this suffering if you just shared the secret of Dragon Tales? First you deny us new stories about Trixie's "development," and now you ignore honest questions and hoard the secret to Dragon Tales. What next? I shudder to think.

Hey Hannah,
I was indeed trying to prolong your suffering ;)

Well, to be honest, I don't know how to answer the question yet. I'm not sure how I went from "Hey Trixie, let's go read a book instead" to "Hey Trixie! Get up! Dragon Tales is coming on!"

Let me watch a little more and get back to ya!

I'll also add that we must embrace that which we fear.
