House made of sticks
This shot was taken inside of a HUGE Patrick Dougherty sculpture. Trixie couldn't get enough of it and asks to go back on a daily basis. Do you live in the Triangle? Do you have a toddler? Take 'em out to the museum. You'll enjoy it.
We're spending all week at the North Carolina Museum of Art. Photo taken February 26th, 2006. Age: 30 months. | |

It looks like she's on a really cool adventure. Isn't it great how kids liven things up! Posted by: Andrea at March 3, 2006 01:04 AM

We are moving to the Triangle area as soon as our house sells in Northern Virginia and we have a daughter exactly Trixie's age. Thanks for the idea of taking her to the museum once we move there! Posted by: Amy at March 3, 2006 08:46 AM

It's great that Trixie isn't afraid to try new things. I've seen some kids that scared of there own shadow!!! Of course their parents treat them like babies. "Oh don't do that, you'll get hurt!" Posted by: jo at March 3, 2006 08:57 AM

Patrick Dougherty does have some neat stuff (have never seen any "live" works) reminds me a little of Andy Goldsworthy which i have so nhad the pleasure of seeing in real live. but enough about artists... trixie is looking like she is having a blast. it is always a great thing when you can expose kids (and adults) to art that just makes them go "WOW!" and stand there looking with their mouths open Posted by: shawn at March 3, 2006 11:36 AM

That reminded me of Andy Goldsworthy's stuff too! Except I couldn't remember his name and thus couldn't comment until after shawn up there. :) Posted by: Cat at March 3, 2006 09:31 PM

Trixie looks like a little equestrian in training with her cute hat, all she needs is a little pony to complete the look. Posted by: Nikole at March 4, 2006 09:35 AM
