We always see her close up and she always looks so grown up. Yes, it's true Trixie is still a toddler. Ben does GREAT work at showing us tho that Trixie is maturing rapidly. Great pic to show us that. Posted by: Debi at March 16, 2006 12:57 AM

One of my earliest memories is of rock-climbing with my dad. This really hit home for me! Posted by: Judy at March 16, 2006 08:02 AM

I don't know how you get some of these shots... but I wanted to be able to take my own third-party pictures without carrying a huge tripod around. I got one of these the other day and thought you (and other readers) would like it too! Posted by: Jeff at March 16, 2006 09:19 AM

Hi Lindsay - (sorry Ben for using comments as e-mail) The Gorillapod is pretty rugged. It's plastic balls with joints "embedded" in the prior ball. Each ball then has a strip of grippy rubber around it (the grey stripe), as well as at the end of each leg. The ONLY area that I think MIGHT be less-than-perfect is the mount release trigger. It's plastic, too... and appears to simply bend the flange out of the way rather than have any kind of hinge mechanism. It might wear down over time... I don't know quite yet. Overall, I'm REALLY impressed. Take a look at the various "in use" shots that they have on their site for ideas... they really can be done! ~Jeff Posted by: Jeff at March 17, 2006 09:05 AM

Thanks Jeff! I ordered one yesterday from the website link you provided. Just a note to anyone who is ordering one, if you enter "GIZMODO" in the coupon/promotion line at checkout you get $3 off! Posted by: Lindsay at March 17, 2006 09:57 AM

Lindsay- I actually think Jeff was indicating that he didn't know about the promotion... so he didn't get the $3 off! That always happens... you know, when you buy something and then you see it on sale? Hence the "Doh!"--it's a little upsetting! :) Posted by: Heather at March 18, 2006 09:21 AM

Thanks for the clarification on my intended meaning, Heather. It was a Doh! ... not a Duh! :) Posted by: Jeff at March 20, 2006 11:55 AM
