We always see her close up and she always looks so grown up.
This shows her in prospective.
Hey! guess what.. she really is only 2 1/2 yrs. old.
This is one of the perfect photos that depicts that.

Yes, it's true Trixie is still a toddler.

Ben does GREAT work at showing us tho that Trixie is maturing rapidly.
But she still is a little girl.

Great pic to show us that.

One of my earliest memories is of rock-climbing with my dad. This really hit home for me!

I don't know how you get some of these shots... but I wanted to be able to take my own third-party pictures without carrying a huge tripod around. I got one of these the other day and thought you (and other readers) would like it too!

Jeff--
That gorillapod thing looks so cool! How rugged is it? Do you think it would survive a three week trek across Italy? Any negative qualitites I should know about before getting this? I know this post really has very little to do with Trixie, but I just had to ask--
Thanks!

Hi Lindsay - (sorry Ben for using comments as e-mail)

The Gorillapod is pretty rugged. It's plastic balls with joints "embedded" in the prior ball. Each ball then has a strip of grippy rubber around it (the grey stripe), as well as at the end of each leg.

The ONLY area that I think MIGHT be less-than-perfect is the mount release trigger. It's plastic, too... and appears to simply bend the flange out of the way rather than have any kind of hinge mechanism. It might wear down over time... I don't know quite yet.

Overall, I'm REALLY impressed. Take a look at the various "in use" shots that they have on their site for ideas... they really can be done!

Thanks Jeff! I ordered one yesterday from the website link you provided. Just a note to anyone who is ordering one, if you enter "GIZMODO" in the coupon/promotion line at checkout you get $3 off!

Jeff--
Sorry! I must have ran across the same promotion online and forgot you mentioned it too!

Lindsay-

I actually think Jeff was indicating that he didn't know about the promotion... so he didn't get the $3 off!

That always happens... you know, when you buy something and then you see it on sale? Hence the "Doh!"--it's a little upsetting! :)

Thanks for the clarification on my intended meaning, Heather. It was a Doh! ... not a Duh! :)
