Please note, for those without toddlers, the bruises on her shins are normal. We don't beat her!!

It's sad that you even have to put that disclaimer on here! I guess in this day and age, you have to always protect yourself. I always worry that people are going to think I hurt my child when he has some sort of owie. What happened to the days when we were kids, and if we had lots of bruises and scrapes it meant that we played outside a lot? Posted by: Valerie at April 3, 2006 01:06 AM

Ernie Beat her. He's just hiding in the shadows of the couch pillows waiting to strike. All kidding aside, I agree with Valerie it's a sad time we live in having to explain all of our kids many ouchies so no one calls CPS. Posted by: Trixie Fan at April 3, 2006 03:58 AM

Actually, Ernie appears to be cowering in fear. What has Trixie done to the poor muppet? Posted by: Rob at April 3, 2006 05:38 AM

Ben's mentioned it before that he's surprised the spill stains aren't showing up on the pix. (You'll have to scroll down down to see his comment) Posted by: Nanay at April 3, 2006 11:09 AM

The worst is when they _first_ start walking. My son was only 11 months old, and I swear, he never failed to land on his face when he fell. He looked like a CPS case. Posted by: amy at April 3, 2006 11:21 AM

My little girl (born in July 03) has the shins of a daredevil. But even more fun, we just bought some black patent mary janes for her, which we have now dubbed the "hard mean little shoes." My shins are starting to look like hers from all the accidental kicks to my legs and feet. Posted by: Rhonda at April 3, 2006 11:48 AM

So cute! My husband got me a video ipod for Christmas so I've downloaded a Dora (for Landry my 2 yr old) and a Spongebob (for Logan my 4 yr old) to watch during those sticky times...dinners out, shopping, etc! Works like a charm! I know I'm a bad Mom... :) Posted by: christine at April 3, 2006 12:51 PM

Christine: I'm one of those moms who doesn't let my child whatch tv (except when sick) and I think that's a brilliant idea with the ipod. Very resourceful! (hi Trixie et al. too...) Posted by: carabeth at April 3, 2006 05:28 PM

At this moment, my 17 month old is talking on my cell phone to goodness only knows who and the 6 year old has my flip phone and is taking videos. *sigh* When did they get so technologically advanced? Maybe Trixie and my boys should get together and compare notes! Posted by: Judy at April 3, 2006 06:07 PM
